#SaveVAWA: About the Violence Against Women Act and Why We Need to Fight for It

The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) was first passed with bipartisan support in 1994. This legislation is designed to prevent sexual violence, protect the rights of survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable.  It sets baseline laws to protect survivors' rights and fund programs for primary prevention, victim services, and public safety.Now, it's in jeopardy. Join LaFASA as we provide an overview of funded programs, discuss the timeline for the new administration's budget proposals, and share ways to fight potential cuts to survivor protections and agency funding.

Come early for our rally on the Capitol Steps then join us as we sit in important legislative sessions and meet with our local representatives.
