"Effective Law Enforcement Response: A Training for Investigators and First Responders."

Participants can expect to learn:

  • Myths and misconceptions about rape victims and perpetrators that can affect an investigation
  • The steps involved in properly collecting and preserving evidence
  • The laboratory processes used to analyze rape kit evidence that make proper evidence preservation mandatory
  • Techniques that will facilitate a fruitful interview, both with the victim and the suspect
  • The elements of a thorough sexual assault investigation
  • Guidelines for handling the investigation of serial rape cases
