Troy Mire, BCSW - Troy Mire and his wife, Cheryle, are co-owners
of Professional Counseling Specialties, Inc. Troy has a Bachelors
Degree in Social Work from Brigham Young University and a Masters Degree
in Social Work from Louisiana State University. He is a Licensed Qualified
Clinical Social Worker, a Diplomat in Clinical Social Work, and a Certified
Clinical Criminal Justice Specialist by the National Association of
Forensic Counselors.
Troy is President of the Louisiana Association for the Treatment of
Sexual Abusers and has been appointed by two Governors to serve as a
mental health expert regarding sexual abuse and offenders on the Louisiana
State Interagency Council for the Prevention of Sexual Offenses.
Since 1986, Troy has assessed and treated hundreds of offenders in prison
and in out-patient settings. In 1999, Troy received a commendation from
the Louisiana Senate for his expertise regarding sexual offenders and
victims of sexual abuse. Troy has qualified as an expert witness on
numerous occasions and has provided consultation to law enforcement
and prosecutors regarding the criminologic patterns of sexual offenders.
Troy currently serves on the Advisory Board for the Children's Advocacy
Center in Calcasieu Parish and is known for his commitment to abuse
prevention and victim protection.
