PreventConnect is pleased to announce its 2012 web conference series titled "Connect for Success: Enhancing impact through innovative partnerships."

Success in the field of sexual and domestic violence prevention has always required partnerships. This year we will focus on innovative relationships or "connections" that enhance the reach and impact of sexual and domestic violence prevention efforts. Five types of opportunities will be examined with regard to their distinct challenges, success and potential for collaborative work.

During the web conference participants will learn and share via candid discussion with peers and national experts. Join us as we explore the connect in PreventConnect. PreventConnect web conferences are free online interactive events for prevention practitioners, researchers and funders to explore how to advance the prevention of sexual violence, domestic violence and teen dating violence. Each session has presenters and practitioner guests (to be announced) along with hundreds of members of the PreventConnect community.

About the Conference
The conference will bring together over 300 professionals from a variety of fields including representatives of anti-domestic and sexual violence service providers, disability service providers, criminal justice professionals, self-advocates from the disability rights movement, and other allied professionals. The conference will highlight promising practices for serving survivors with disabilities; explore emerging issues at the intersection of violence and disability; and foster networking among those working to end violence against people with disabilities.

Join the Movement to End Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Against People with Disabilities
People with disabilities experience sexual assault and domestic violence at epidemic rates. Yet, too often, the services and systems that survivors of these crimes turn to for support and justice are unable to meet the needs of survivors with disabilities. Disability organizations, rape crisis centers, and domestic violence programs are coming together across the country to create a bridge to services for survivors with disabilities, and to ensure that they have equal access to supports and justice options that are critical to surviving violence and healing after trauma. This small but growing movement needs your commitment and experience. Please attend this conference or consider sharing your expertise on October 31 and November 1 in Louisville KY.
